I believe that a quest for a full and productive life provides the basis for personal happiness. My quest has involved research in nuclear chemistry, work in clinical medical physics, teaching and diverse personal activities including sports, horticulture and involvement with many volunteer organizations.

Love of chemistry has taken me on research tangents across multi-discipline boundaries that has proved challenging and fulfilling. My efforts to develop an imaging phantom, for use in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, has been supplemented by the development of non-ionizing radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer. In the process, I have become involved, first hand, with the technical and personal problems facing patients in a clinical setting . Teaching and lecturing, at the graduate and undergraduate levels, has provided me with the means for helping students to achieve their educational and technical goals.

Volunteer activities have been an important part of my life and has constituted a part of my quest for happiness. By actively participating as a soccer coach, referee and head of officials, I have given back to my community a small portion of my community obligations. While at the Shed Aquarium, I furthered my community participation by helping to inform the visiting public of the many wonders to be found in nature's aquatic world.

In summary, I am an individual who loves life and its challenges and plan to continue my pursuits in research , teaching and diverse personal activities.
